Remembering Uni

This is a response to the Weekly Photo Challenge – Growth.

The word ‘Growth‘ immediately brings my days at Uni to mind.

A place that played a significant role in my journey of personal growth.

A place where I was encouraged to ask questions, challenge opinions, and think critically.

A place that emphasised on problem solving and critical analysis rather than rote memorisation.

A place that focused on independent learning.

A place where I held my first job, albeit part-time.

A place where I met some of the most wonderful people in my life.

A place where I learned to believe in myself and become independent.

A place where I was given a hard push outside my comfort zone.

A place where I learned to manage time.

A place where I saw my first snow.

A place where I was acquainted with and grew to love a culture radically different to mine.

The place that is solely responsible for my culinary skills today.

The place to teach me that there is no substitute for hardwork.

The place where I first interacted with people from a different world.

To me that place is my first University experience abroad, University of Nottingham. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

I miss it deeply and I hope to visit it sometime soon. 🙂
